Supply and Demand Tracker for StarTrader

Recently we have completed 'Supply and Demand Tracker' for Star Trader 3000 game, that can be used in old Star Trader game as well. With it - price changes and trade calculations are much easier and are no longer based on 'maths' but rather on 'operations'. It will be included as part of Star Trader 3000, but - along with our policy - we've prepared set of files to help everyone out with our SD Tracker, including printable version of it.

To have it print this - PDF with SD Tracker parts
To use - read this - SD Usage Guide
Or watch walk-through - SD Assembly and usage

Star Trader 3000 Versions

For past few months we've been working hard to prepare English version of Star Trader 3000. In the process - we decided to prepare four different version of the game - each will vary in terms of - what player will have to do to play the game. The versions will be as follows:

Game Crafter editionComplete game available, requires some 'assembly' after purchasing due to the nature of the games produced by TGC
Game Crafter without elementsAll elements printed by TGC, all other elements to be completed elsewhere (recommendation will be given)
Printable editionAll elements available for print in A3 and A4 formats with an instruction on assembly
Collectors editionGame crafted by SharpSharkGames exclusively with different elements

For the moment - we still work on completing all different instructions through the video 'walk-trough's' on YouTube and printable documentation. We wish to announce also, that game is now play-tested with original rules.

Black Gates

From wanderer's diary:
- Get ready people! It is coming! - Weldron yelled at loud
- Don't get so excited, probably another horde of harpies - Gislan grumbled - I think I will try out my knife...
- Come on Gislan - said Larraka - don't make our apprentices lazy
- I'm not sure if they can be anything lazier than they already are...
- Cut that ...
In the same moment fearful road filled in the room
- What was that? - asked one of the apprentices
- Lot's of fun, big, flying and extremely dangerous - said Gislan
- Hope it will be a single one ... - answered Larraka getting ready to fight, realising all at sudden, that at least three gargoyles were just coming out from the darkness

Black Gates is a fantasy adventure in a mystic dungeon. Aim is simple - find and destroy mystic Black Gates. To achieve that - you need to set up your team, equip them with weapons, give them some spells and send to the dungeon. In there - not only fight different monsters but also - explore treasures and various discoveries. Of course - in the meantime, gather wealth, money and special items.

Black Gates is a fan remake of original Citedel of Blood game published somewhere in 80's by SPI company. Game was given all new graphics and all new approach to mechanics preserving all the original ideas and ways of playing. What is worth mentioning - pen and paper are no longer needed. Additionally - game rules do apply some changes, that allow few players in separate teams instead of only one team in the first version.
Game Components
56 hero, spells and equipment cards
20 beast cards
80 double sided maze cards
Over 40 token chips with stickers representing heroes, monsters and doors
More than 100 wooden cubes and octboxes to mark items and heroes
Near 100 winks and gems to represent health
Black Gates will soon be available as 'print' and 'customize' game or to purchase with "TheGameCrafter" as fully playable game. With this game - all the profit will be given to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, great place, where orphan elephants and rhinos in Africa find their second home.

Star Trader 3000

From "History of Trade" book in Beta Hydri library
Clark was in this business for years. Actually - he couldn't say, when he stopped with passenger cruises as well as smuggling taking real challenge as a freelance trader. This is why he was never surprised seeing another ship wreck near Mu Herculis system, well known from pirates and smugglers.
- Nick, is there anything left - asked Clark, not really showing too much of interest
- Nothing, as usual - navigator didn't even raise his voice
- What was their main trade cargo?
- Food, yes, mainly food...
- Well than.... what the hell were they doing out here? - he wondered for a second - Ah, never mind, let's buy some alloys here - said turning his steps back to the cantine
- Clark! We may have a problem... - said Nick all at sudden
- What again? I'd rather have a drink instead of rescuing some lost crew members like we did last time...
- Truly, I hope someone will come to rescue us - said Nick while his face turned pale - It looks like "Spear" class ship accompanied with "Clarinet" on our tale is trying to intercept us...
- Aha... this is going to be much more fun than any kind of drink...

Star Trader 3000 is a game based in space, where up to six players do take role of star companies leaders. Each leader has 20 rounds to become the richest of all. In this universe, where six planet systems are the biggest trade centres, becoming merchant is only one of the choices. Game system allows player also to become factory owner, passenger company leader, dark smuggler, local brutal ruler or a colourful mixture of all. Variety of elements not only allows different strategies, but also enforces players to quickly adopt their tactics to the dynamically changing world conditions. At the same time - level of interaction in between players is quite well build with randomness being almost the same for all them.

Star Trader 3000 is a fan remake of original Star Trader game published by SPI in early 80's. What is special in this game is it's unique economics that very well show the mechanisms of trade. At the top of it - players are still given variety of gaming options above trading. Original game consisted of a big gaming board with huge number of paper tokens. That made this game difficult to play, since for a game like that - it was difficult to keep all the markers in their positions. This is why - in Star Trader 3000 we decided to replace all of that with cards, boards, plastic winks and wooden elements. On the top of it - Star Trader 3000 does not require pen and paper, that was quite painful to use in the original game.
Game Content
Three star system boards
40 event and opportunity cards
12 unique agent cards
80 cards representing Space Ships and relevant modules
30 factory and warehouse cards
40 wooden tokens representing space ships
Almost 200 of tokens representing different commodities
50 wooden cubes to mark quantities
Star Trader 3000 will soon be available for print as well as for purchase through "The Game Crafter" service. Additionally - purchasing will not generate any benefit, instead - all the profit will be given to charity. This game will help The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - organization helping mainly orphan elephants and rhinos in Africa.

Black Gates - recreation is at final straight

Lot of work completed, results - soon I will have the chance to evaluate. Through The Game Crafter service - re-edition of Citadel Of Blood is now almost completed. It means - it is actually ready to play. What I still need to create is new instruction to the recreated components. For the moment - I'm working only on Polish Version, since it is a lot easier (I own a copy). Now - where I'm at is that before checking it - I will first re-create also Star Trader and create Manago, to check all the three games at once. Or maybe not? We'll see. Probably - Citadel and Trader will be done together so that I'm paying for shipment only once :) Details will follow soon!

Citadel of Blood - Polish Beast Cards

All cards of new Citadel of Blood remade version are gathered here. What has to be noted, is that this is the polish version of the game. All the cards - together with other elements of game will soon be available for gamers in different possible ways.

Print to play resources: Citadel of Blood

This time we are presenting you tokens recreated for Citadel of Blood. In fact - this game is all about tokens given the initial version. Since remake for this one shall be ready there soon - here is what we done for the game. In fact - those are four A4 papers where two of them need to be glued together, while the rest two - not necessary. Again - rules are not included, so you still need to have the original piece of it. Aha - this was created for Polish version and the names may vary slightly. Still - when you compare - differences are purely cosmetic.

  • To be glued together:
  1. Room sheet part one (Awers)
  2. Room sheet part two (Rewers)
  • And as an option for glue
  1. Character sheet part one
  2. Character sheet part two
To be absolutely clear - tokens are twice as big as original ones. That is again - for convenience. Handling very small sized tokens was never extremely nice thing to do.

Print to play resources: Star Trader

This is actually how it all started. Back there, somewhere in 90's we did play StarTrader a little bit, while still - enjoyed a huge lot. One who played this game knows probably what we are talking about. In the era when PC was still a kind of 'witch craft' and word 'electronic' applied only to watches. Back there, mr. Nick Karp did design a great game of adventure in space. In fact - quite a few people will still consider it as a best of all time!

Unfortunately - not many of those are left in 'playable' conditions. This is why we decided to create new, refreshed gaming resources that you can easily print and have some fun playing. For convinience it is created in two language version - English and Polish.

Today enclosed links are to the Polish version, allowing to create your re-print of the game. Still - you will need to have your own rule book since this is not included. All the files are hosted through our homble gaming society - Board Game Geek
There is also one extra this time requiring PC. A flash based calculator that makes life easier when it comes to calculating the prices (that was considered as one of the most painful tasks ever). Calculator and relevant instruction on the usage scenarios.

All above were created based on polish version of the game. Now - soon we'll be creating the same for english.
